NO FAD DIET course
I hate the word diet! Diets to me mean deprivation, weighing, counting calories, worry, stress, guilt, scales. Having to look a certain way or feeling like a failure.
So, although I want to help others feel comfortable in their bodies, for me as a Nutritional Therapist this is about being at the optimal weight for YOU, and be free of any symptoms that you might already be experiencing or ones you want to avoid in the future. This is about optimal health not dieting.
Therefore, I am going to call my course the Optimal Health Course. You will learn how to take control of your weight management from a CLINICAL weight loss point of view – NOT DIETING.
My name is Lucy and for most of my adult life I was a serial yo-yo dieter (actually from the age of 14). There wasn’t a diet I hadn’t tried. I would either not lose any weight at all, or lose a little then gain a lot back. If I could go back and tell my former 14 yr-old self it would be for god’s sake - DO NOT DIET!
In my thirties I finally got it. And I did it on my own. No diet clubs, no shakes or disgusting meal replacements, no weighing or counting calories.
There is no counting calories. And in fact my one message to you as this reader for 2024 if ANYONE – including from the health and fitness industry – tells you the answer is to EAT LESS and MOVE MORE - WALK AWAY! They have no idea what they are talking about. I do. I am trained in clinical weight management and in Nutritional Therapy.
I can teach you whether you have a little to lose or a lot, whether you are perimenopausal or menopausal (yes we have added complications to handle), whether you are pre-diabetic or already Type 2 diabetic. And most importantly I have been where you are. I am 48 and am healthier and fitter than I was in my early thirties.
And I can help you too!
Here’s some of the things you will be learning and embracing – things that may be negatively affecting your body’s natural weight.
How to banish dieting for good and take a new science-backed approach
to balancing hormones – insulin, ghrelin, leptin, AMPK and adiponectin
The Glycaemic Index of foods
